Promoting healthy communities by developing resources to protect and improve the environment, promote health, and prevent disease.
We are members of your community working with local businesses to help ensure that the cities, towns, and neighborhoods of Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah counties are healthy places to live, work and play.
Current Programs and Services:
STUDENTS WORKING AGAINST TOBACCO (SWAT)
HCNEU offers scholarships to two students from each high school in the Uintah Basin who will take opportunities to make a difference with their peers, to prevent tobacco, and vaping, among other students at their schools and in their community. The purpose is to encourage students and peers to remain tobacco and drug free.

Oral Healthcare in Northeastern Utah
HCNEU offers some Free Dental Cleanings and Exams to individuals who do not have dental insurance and cannot afford regular cleanings. Dr. Harmon and Dental Hygienist Jessica Karren at Ashley Valley Family Dental have partnered with us to provide these exams and cleanings. Funding has been provided, in thanks, to a generous donation from the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation.
Efforts
We are striving for healthy communities in the Uintah Basin and throughout the shoulders and valleys of the Uintah Mountains.
We work to protect the environment so that residents can enjoy clean air, pure water, and soils free from contamination.
We strive to provide for healthy living environments, including green space, trails, and outdoor recreation opportunities that promote active lifestyles and healthy habits.
We promote health through education and evidence-based information and resources.
We work closely with TriCounty Health, Ashley Regional Medical Center, Uintah Basin Healthcare, and area doctors, clinics and health experts to support efforts to prevent and treat disease and illness in our community.
We are constantly seeking new funding through grant writing and donations to fund various projects that could promote and improve the health of our community.
